What we care about
High-quality care that is easy to access.
Relief from symptoms, without creating new ones.
Safe, effective treatment, with no fear of dependency.
A better quality of life every day, for everyone.
We believe good care should fit into real life. Sooma builds medical-grade tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation) treatment for depression and chronic pain, made for use at home. Since 2013, we have worked with psychiatrists and brain scientists to make it safe and backed by evidence.

Sooma started in Helsinki, Finland, in 2013. We build our devices with psychiatrists and brain researchers, the same experts who have worked with us from day one.
Sooma tDCS launched in 2014 to treat major depressive disorder, known in the ICD-11 as depressive episode. In 2017, we added treatment for chronic pain, including fibromyalgia and nerve pain.
Every Sooma device is designed in Finland to the ISO 13485 quality standard. Sooma tDCS is a CE Class IIa medical device, certified under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
Today, more than 300 care and research institutions worldwide work with Sooma. Over 35,000 patients have used our treatment.
