Sooma tDCS

Sooma tDCS is a CE Class IIa certified medical device, built for depression and chronic pain treatment at home.

What's in the kit

Sooma DUO device

A compact, portable stimulator that delivers a controlled current.

ComfoCap

A headcap with pre-set positions for the electrodes, so placement is correct every time.

ComfoTrode

The electrode cups that clip into the ComfoCap and deliver the current.

Conductive pads

Single-use pads that sit in the electrode cups.

Charger

A USB-C cable and plug to charge the device between sessions.

Sooma App

Guides you through each session, records your data, and tracks your progress.

What a session feels like

Most people feel a mild tingling or warmth on the skin under the electrodes for the first few minutes. This usually fades as the session continues.

You are free to carry on with something else, like reading or watching TV. You stay fully alert throughout, and there is no recovery time afterward.

A typical session, step by step

Select a step to see what to do.

1. Prepare your pads

Place a fresh pair of Conductive Pads into the electrode cups.

2. Put on the ComfoCap

This takes about a minute. Connect the cables to their matching colors from the outside.

3. Start the session

Open the Sooma App and start your session. You may feel a brief tingling as it begins.

4. Sit back for 30 minutes

Read, watch something, or just relax. The device switches off on its own when done.

5. Clean up after

Take off the used pads and throw them away. Rinse the cap and electrodes in warm water and let them dry. Recharge the device if it needs it.

Your treatment plan

Weeks 1 to 3

5 sessions per week.

From week 4

3 sessions per week, to help sustain your progress.

Total

6 months of access, covering both phases.

Everyone's brain responds at its own pace. Benefits build up over the program, and some people notice meaningful change later than others.

Safety

tDCS is not suitable if you have:

  • devices or metal objects on or inside the skull, such as cochlear implants or metal plates from surgery
  • acute eczema or broken skin at the electrode site

Sooma DUO is compatible with cardiac pacemakers.

Side effects are typically mild and temporary, including tingling and slight redness at the electrode site¹. Some people get a mild headache in the first few sessions. If you have questions, a healthcare provider can help.
